The role holder will be responsible for supporting the management of bank partners’ regional relationships to ensure that the company achieves its corporate goals in terms of growth, profitability, customer service, and the regional revenue targets as set. Additionally, the assistant will implement sales plans and actions to drive performance.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Management and Support
Ensure cross-selling of all Britam products occurs within new and existing business segments across all bank partners.
Support the implementation of plans and innovative sales tactics for banca Retail Life sales for agreed partners.
Identify gaps or anomalies and develop ideas to rectify and improve performance by monitoring performance against set targets.
Assist in the implementation and repositioning of new product initiatives.
Ensure renewal business retention targets are met as per the established parameters.
Provide timely feedback to supervisors on queries, complaints, and sales statistics.
Advise and share best practices, tactics, and action plans with bank partners to close sales gaps.
Provide quotations as required by clients or bank partners within set time frames.
Acquire and retain profitable business in line with acceptable loss ratios.
Ensure premium payment for all closed sales is within the company’s set credit control policy.
Adhere to regulatory, compliance, and internal procedures regarding bancassurance businesses.
Maintain a healthy sales pipeline that supports new business onboarding.
Ensure timely preparation of required presentations, sales pitches, and product write-ups.
Relationship Building & Sales Management
Build, maintain, and sustain business relationships with regional bank partners’ teams, including Business Development Officers, Credit Officers, Relationship Managers, and Direct Sales teams.
Actively manage relationships with all bank branch staff to ensure smooth operation of distribution channels in delivering targets.
Integrate effectively with all team members into a harmonious unit committed to the team vision and direction.
Reporting
Ensure stipulated reports are prepared and shared within agreed timelines and in the required format.
Ensure monthly expense reports are prepared and submitted within stipulated processes and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
Relevant years of experience will be an added advantage.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong business relationships.
Proven sales track record in the financial services industry, especially insurance.
Professional insurance, sales, or marketing qualification is an added advantage.
Highly organized, independent, and able to prioritize tasks.
