Africa Nazarene University (ANU) is an American private Christian University in Nairobi, Kenya. The university is seeking qualified individuals to join its faculty at various academic ranks, including Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, and Lecturer. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, conducting research, and providing academic leadership within a student-centered environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver quality teaching, assessment, and feedback to students.
- Engage in curriculum review and program improvement; contribute to the development and implementation of high-quality curricula.
- Review course outlines and develop lesson plans.
- Prepare course materials and teaching aids, ensuring timely upload to the Learning Management System.
- Employ various teaching methods such as field studies, group activities, and laboratory sessions.
- Develop assessment plans; set, moderate, and mark examinations and assignments.
- Supervise undergraduate or graduate teaching, internships, and research work.
- Conduct research and publish findings in professional journals, books, or electronic media.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and departmental meetings.
- Provide academic and career advising to students.
- Adhere to program standards and maintain academic integrity.
Qualifications and Experience per Rank
Professor
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience as an Associate Professor.
- Minimum of sixty (60) publication points, with at least forty (40) from refereed journals.
- National, regional, and international recognition for research.
- Supervised at least five (5) postgraduate students (including two doctoral students) to completion.
- Proven track record of attracting research funds.
Associate Professor
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience as a Senior Lecturer OR six (6) years of senior research/industry experience.
- Minimum of forty-eight (48) publication points, with at least thirty-two (32) from refereed journals.
- Recognition for research and history of attracting research funds.
- Supervised at least four (4) postgraduate students (including one doctoral student) to completion.
Senior Lecturer
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience as a Lecturer OR six (6) years of research/industry experience.
- Minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points, with at least twenty-four (24) from refereed journals.
- Supervised at least three (3) postgraduate students to completion.
- History of attracting research funds.
Lecturer
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level OR five (5) years of research/industry experience.
- Track record of securing research funds.
- Minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points, with at least sixteen (16) from refereed journals.
