The Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee (IGRTC) is a state agency established under the Intergovernmental Relations Act, 2012. It is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the National and County Government Coordinating Summit and the Council of County Governors (CoG). The committee facilitates the activities of the Summit and CoG and implements their decisions.
Responsibilities
Facilitate the day-to-day functioning of the National and County Government Coordinating Summit.
Coordinate activities between the National Government and the Council of County Governors.
Implement decisions made by the Summit and the Council of County Governors.
Manage and facilitate intergovernmental relations and technical cooperation between the two levels of government.
Requirements for Appointment
To be eligible for appointment as a Member, an applicant must:
Be a citizen of Kenya.
Hold a degree from a university recognized in Kenya.
Have a distinguished career in their respective field.
Have at least ten years’ post-qualification professional experience.
Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution (Integrity and Leadership).
Disqualification Criteria
A person is not eligible for appointment if they:
Are a member of Parliament or a County Assembly.
Are a member of a governing body of a political party.
Are an elected or nominated member of a county government.
Are a member of a Commission established under the Constitution.
Are an undischarged bankrupt.
Have been removed from office for contravening the Constitution or any other law.
Have not met statutory obligations in the conduct of their affairs.
Terms of Service
Salary and benefits: As determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
Term of Office: Non-renewable term of six (6) years.

Clearances from KRA, EACC, HELB, CRB, and DCI (Police Clearance).
Office of the Registrar of Political Parties clearance.
Sworn affidavits regarding document authenticity and non-disqualification.
CUE recognition for foreign degrees.
