Nandi County, known as Kenya’s athletics hub and the 'home of champions', is seeking a qualified Legal Officer. The successful candidate will provide legal guidance, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage legal risks for the County Public Service Board. This role involves representing the Board in legal proceedings, drafting essential documents, and maintaining comprehensive legal records.
Duties and Responsibilities
Advising the Board on legal issues, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation strategies.
Drafting, vetting, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
Representing the Board in Court or before various tribunals.
Managing lawsuits filed by or against the Board, including collaborating with external advocates to develop legal strategies.
Monitoring compliance with statutory requirements and maintaining meticulous legal records.
Conducting legal research and preparing professional legal opinions.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must possess:
A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized institution.
A Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
Active membership in the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) in good standing.
A current and valid practicing license.
