Kirinyaga University is seeking a Lecturer in Leadership and Management to join their academic faculty. The role involves academic instruction, research, and administrative participation within the department to ensure the delivery of high-quality education and the achievement of institutional goals.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Evaluation: Conduct teaching and evaluation for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Examination Management: Set, moderate, administer, process, and mark examinations.
Mentorship: Provide academic advising and mentoring to students at various levels.
Material Development: Develop and update teaching and learning materials to maintain academic standards.
Research Supervision: Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research activities.
Funding & Collaboration: Develop research proposals for funding and participate in conferences to build inter-disciplinary collaboration.
Strategic Planning: Participate in the preparation of Department and Faculty strategic plans.
Educational Activities: Organize and supervise various educational activities for students.
Professional Development: Attend and participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences in relevant fields.
Curriculum Development: Participate in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula in the Department.
Administration: Undertake administrative duties and other responsibilities as may be assigned by the department or faculty from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
Registered or registerable with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
Alternative Qualification: A Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university (in special cases) with at least three (3) years of teaching experience at university level, or in research or industry.
A minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points, of which at least ten (10) should be from refereed journal papers.
