Alupe University College (AUC), a Constituent College of Moi University, is seeking a qualified Lecturer in Clothing & Textile. This role involves teaching specialized subjects, leading academic research, and contributing to the development of the Home Science department.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction: Teach in specialized areas such as Nutrition, Fashion and Textiles, Family Studies, or Interior Design.
Research: Initiate and lead original research projects, seek external funding, and publish results in refereed journals.
Curriculum Development: Review and update the Home Science degree to align with current industry trends and Commission for University Education (CUE) standards.
Governance: Serve in administrative positions or as a member of university committees as directed.
Consultancy: Provide professional consultancy or community service related to home economics and family welfare.
Requirements
Academic Qualifications: Holder of a PhD in Home Economics specializing in Clothing and Textile from a recognized university. Must also hold a Master’s degree in Home Economics (Clothing and Textile) from a recognized university.
Experience: At least three (3) years of teaching or research experience at the university level as a Tutorial Fellow or Assistant Lecturer.
Publication Record: Must have a minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points, with at least sixteen (16) points coming from refereed journal papers.
Professional Standing: Registered with a relevant professional body (where applicable).
Skills: Proficiency in computer applications.
Certifications: Applicants with foreign qualifications must have their certificates certified by the Commission for University Education (CUE).
