Role Overview
CURE International is seeking an Inventory Officer to oversee the management of hospital stocks and supplies. The role involves the complete lifecycle of inventory management, including receiving goods, verifying quality, issuing supplies, and maintaining accurate digital and physical records. The successful candidate will also provide procurement support and ensure compliance with healthcare quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving and Issuance
Receive all goods, products, and equipment at the hospital, including gift in kind (GIK) items.
Verify deliveries against invoices and purchase orders to ensure correct quality and quantity.
Document and report discrepancies or damages to the Procurement & Inventory Supervisor.
Release medical and non-medical supplies to departments based on approved requisitions.
Monitor stock levels and request replenishments for medical and pharmacy supplies.
Procurement and Administration
Raise Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) and external requisitions.
Sourcing quotations and proforma invoices for procurement needs.
Assist in quarterly stock-taking exercises.
Encode entries for inventory consumption and obsolescence into the system.
Maintain organized records of all procurement and inventory documentation for audit purposes.
Update the fixed asset register and liaise with the Accounts department for supplier payments.
Quality and Safety
Ensure compliance with the SafeCare quality management system.
Maintain Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) standards for cleanliness and housekeeping.
Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols, including proper use of PPE.
Comply with CURE's child protection and safeguarding policies.
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree (BA/BSc) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field.
High level of accuracy in data entry and record maintenance.
Understanding of inventory management systems.
Commitment to environmental stewardship and safeguarding policies.
