Job Description
Embu County Government is seeking to recruit a qualified individual for the role of Assistant Director Procurement. This position is central to the county's operations, focusing on the management and oversight of procurement and supply chain processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all acquisition activities are conducted with the highest levels of transparency, efficiency, and compliance with Kenyan public procurement laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
Overseeing the county's procurement and supply chain management operations.
Ensuring adherence to the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act and other relevant regulations.
Managing the end-to-end tendering process, from planning to contract award.
Providing strategic advice to the county leadership on procurement policies and market trends.
Demonstrating professional competence and integrity in all managerial duties.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
Served in a relevant and comparable position for a minimum period of three (3) years.
A Diploma in Supplies Management or its approved equivalent from a recognized institution.
A Bachelor's Degree in any of the following fields: Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Procurement and Supplies Management, Marketing, Law, or their equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Demonstrated professional competence, managerial capability, and integrity in work performance.
