Africa Nazarene University (ANU) is seeking a distinguished academic to fill the position of Professor in the Computer Science department. As a senior member of the faculty, the Professor will provide academic leadership through excellence in teaching, research, and service. The role involves delivering high-quality education, mentoring postgraduate students, conducting impactful research, and contributing to the university's growth through curriculum development and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Instruction: Deliver quality teaching, assessment, and feedback. Utilize various methods such as field studies, group activities, laboratory sessions, and off-class activities to facilitate student learning.
Curriculum Development: Lead and participate in curriculum reviews and program improvements. Plan and implement high-quality curricula, including lesson plans and course outlines.
Learning Management: Prepare course materials and teaching aids, ensuring they are uploaded to the Learning Management System in a timely manner.
Assessment and Grading: Develop assessment plans, set exams, moderate assessments, and ensure accurate grading is recorded in the system.
Supervision: Oversee undergraduate and graduate teaching, internships, and research projects.
Research and Publication: Conduct original research within the field of Computer Science and publish findings in refereed journals, books, or relevant electronic media.
Leadership and Service: Participate in quality assurance activities, peer reviews, and administrative meetings. Provide academic and career advising to students.
External Engagement: Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars. Foster industrial linkages and participate in market outreach visits.
Requirements and Qualifications
At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level as an Associate Professor.
A minimum of sixty (60) publication points as an Associate Professor or equivalent, with at least forty (40) points from refereed scholarly journals.
Evidence of national, regional, and international recognition for research contributions.
Successful supervision of at least five (5) postgraduate students to completion, including at least two (2) doctoral students.
Proven ability to attract research funds as an Associate Professor or equivalent.
Demonstrated teaching proficiency through student evaluations and peer reviews.
Familiarity with online teaching methodologies and pedagogy.
Experience in major non-teaching responsibilities within a university or reputable organization is an added advantage.
