Role Overview
The Compensation and Benefits Manager is responsible for leading the design and delivery of the organization’s reward and employee relations functions. This includes oversight of compensation strategies, payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations processes. The role ensures fair, compliant, and consistent application of reward and workplace practices, supported by effective use of HR systems and data, to enhance employee engagement, retention, and organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Policy Leadership: Lead the development, implementation, and continuous review of compensation, benefits, and employee relations policies and frameworks aligned with organizational goals.
Compensation Strategy: Oversee job evaluation processes, salary benchmarking, and remuneration surveys to ensure equitable and competitive pay structures.
Payroll Management: Supervise accurate and timely payroll processing, ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements, organizational policies, and audit standards.
Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits programs, including medical insurance and group life insurance, ensuring service provider performance meets standards.
Employee Relations: Manage grievance handling, disciplinary procedures, and case resolution, ensuring fairness and compliance with labor laws.
Technical Advisory: Provide guidance to management and committees on employee relations matters to mitigate risks and support decision-making.
Staff Engagement: Support retention through reward initiatives, staff welfare programs, and effective benefits communication.
Data Analytics: Analyze compensation and benefits data to generate insights for management decision-making.
HR Systems: Optimize the use of HR systems and tools for payroll and benefits, maintaining data accuracy and confidentiality.
Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary contact for Finance, HR, and external service providers regarding payroll and benefits execution.
Continuous Improvement: Lead the automation and innovation of HR processes to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and build the capacity of the Compensation and Benefits team.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A minimum of a Master’s degree in Human Resources or a relevant field from a recognized university.
Experience: At least 8 years of generalist or specialist HR experience, with a minimum of 4 years at a management level specifically in Compensation and Benefits.
Certifications: CHRP-K, SHRM, or CIPD professional certification.
Professional Membership: Valid and active IHRM membership.
Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in utilizing technology for HR service delivery.
Leadership Training: A certificate in Leadership or Management from a recognized institution.
