Assistant Director, Partnership & Professional Development

The Assistant Director, Partnership & Professional Development (KETRB 4) is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the Board's initiatives in professional training, stakeholder collaborations, and the professional development of engineering technology professionals. This position involves ensuring that educational curricula in universities and tertiary institutions align with professional registration standards, managing internship programs, and overseeing professional examinations.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n- Review detailed training curricula for engineering technology professionals in liaison with training institutions and stakeholders.\n- Participate in the formulation of engineering technology programs in public and private universities and tertiary institutions.\n- Plan, arrange, and coordinate professional training sessions.\n- Coordinate the internship of engineering technology professionals.\n- Collaborate with training institutions, professional associations, and relevant bodies on matters of professional development.\n- Oversee professional examinations for the purposes of registration.\n- Oversee the maintenance of a database of interns and training institutions offering internship programs.\n- Monitor and evaluate engineering technology programs to ensure quality and relevance.\n\n### Job Specification\n- Served cumulatively for twelve (12) years, three (3) years of which must have been in the grade of Principal Engineering Technologist or a comparable position in the Public Service.\n- Bachelor’s of Technology in Mechanical Engineering, Building and Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Education Technology, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.\n- A Master’s Degree in a relevant field.\n- A leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.\n- Registered with Kenya Engineering Technology Registration Board (KETRB) as a Professional Engineering Technologist.\n- Valid annual practicing license from KETRB.\n- Fulfilled requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution regarding integrity and leadership.\n- Proficiency in computer applications.\n- Note: Proven experience in implementing training and professional development programmes is an added advantage.\n\n### Remuneration and Benefits\n- Basic Salary: Ksh. 129,120 – 204,115 p.m.\n- House Allowance: Ksh. 45,000 p.m.\n- Commuter Allowance: Ksh. 12,000 p.m.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested candidates should visit the Board's website at www.ketrb.go.ke for detailed information.
