Job Description
AGL (Africa Global Logistics), the reference multimodal logistics operator in Africa and part of the MSC family, is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for its Special Economic Zone (SEZ) operations. This role connects Africa to the rest of the world through port, ocean, logistics, and railway solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of warehouse activities, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
Allocate equipment, warehouse space, and personnel according to the planning schedule provided by the warehouse manager.
Conduct daily operations and toolbox meetings with relevant warehouse teams.
Perform daily spot checks to ensure staff adhere to rules and procedures as published in the operational SOPs.
Coordinate inbound, storage, and outbound activities for shipments in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensure correct stacking and storage procedures are followed as per SOP and manager instructions.
Perform monthly stock takes in accordance with standard procedures.
Issue gate passes and delivery notes per truck or activity.
Prepare manual goods receipt and dispatch notes.
Safety & Security
Ensure compliance with all QHSE regulations to maintain safe working conditions within the warehouse and yard.
Maintain security procedures as per SOP and perform daily compliance checks.
Documentation & Reporting
Supervise the correct and timely archiving of documentation by warehouse staff.
Counter-sign stack cards, tally sheets, and stock take sheets to ensure stock accuracy.
Maintain an up-to-date catalog of all items with dimensions available in the warehouse.
Provide reports as per requirements from the warehouse manager or clients.
Process receiving, discrepancy, and damage reports as needed.
Staff & Administration
Supervise permanent and casual staff to ensure job activities are performed correctly.
Ensure warehouse cleanliness and maintain an up-to-date cleaning roster.
Participate in budget development and exercise budgetary control over operations.
Evaluate complaints received on shipments and take appropriate corrective action.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Proven experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
At least 2 years of professional experience in supply chain with a specific focus on warehousing.
