Job Description
Role Overview
The Inventory Controller is primarily responsible for assisting the Operations Manager by undertaking daily system reconciliation for warehouse stock movement from receipts to dispatch. This involves precise data entry in the Warehouse Management System (SAP WMS) and conducting daily cycle counts within the warehouse. The role also includes preparing joint monthly stock takes, sign-offs, and ensuring full compliance with operational standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Stock Inspection & Reconciliation: Carry out daily spot checks, cycle counts, and monthly stock takes, reconciling results against the WMS stocks.
Warehouse Organization: Ensure proper housekeeping and stock arrangement within storage areas during put-away activities.
Quality Control: Maintain standard quality products in warehouse zones and ensure the WMS system is aligned with physical storage quantities.
Reporting: Update WMS data for stock nonconformities due to storage bin misalignment. Generate and share weekly aging reports with all stakeholders.
Loss Management: Report any stock nonconformity (loss) to the Operations Manager in real-time to allow for immediate investigation and closure.
Documentation: Maintain clear and accurate record-keeping of daily cycle counts, monthly stock takes, and signed monthly stock take sheets for reference.
Safety: Take full responsibility for safety at various workstations, aiming for zero Lost Time Accidents (LTA). Ensure zero accidents and timely escalation of safety issues.
Equipment Handling: Properly handle and ensure the safe usage of assigned equipment, including desktops and laptops.
Traceability: Maintain full stock traceability throughout the operational cycle.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A relevant University degree or Diploma in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or Purchasing.
Experience: At least 2 years of work experience specifically in inventory management.
Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in warehousing, logistics, or an FMCG environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and SAP WMS.
Soft Skills: Strong planning, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Must be innovative, creative, and results-oriented.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Acumen: Strong business and commercial acumen.
