Role Overview
Embu University College is seeking a qualified and experienced Driver II to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation services for university staff, students, and materials, while ensuring the vehicle is maintained in excellent working condition.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Operate university vehicles safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
Ensure the safety of passengers and goods during transit.
Perform routine vehicle checks and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly to the relevant authorities.
Maintain the cleanliness of the assigned vehicle at all times.
Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, and fuel consumption in the provided logbooks.
Assist with the loading and unloading of goods as required.
Comply with all safety protocols and university transport policies.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: KCSE mean grade D+ (plus) or KCE Division IV.
Certifications: Valid drivers license class A, B, C, E, or for smart driving license classes B, C1, C, D1, D2, and D3.
Trade Test: Occupational trade test III for drivers.
Experience: At least five (5) years of accident-free continuous driving experience.
Legal: A valid certificate of good conduct from the Kenya Police.
Languages: Proficiency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
Technology: Basic computer skills are required.
Added Advantage: Ability in driving tractors, buses, and lorries will be considered a significant added advantage.
