The Vice President, Investment Banking is responsible for leading the origination of Advisory and Capital Market solutions across multiple product areas in the country. This role involves taking ownership of the Advisory and Capital Market platforms and franchise in the region and supervising support functions.

Providing close support to the Regional Head of Investment Banking in creating and maintaining strong relationships with high-value customers to facilitate the development of a strong pipeline.
Establishing a high degree of trust with clients during execution and growing rapport by demonstrating an understanding of their needs and responsiveness.
Understanding Ecobank’s approach and policies for managing risks and applicable legal and regulatory rules.
Demonstrating leadership capabilities, including the ability to organize and manage human resources from varied cultural backgrounds to attain goals.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
Identifying new Advisory and Capital Market opportunities within existing or new client bases.
Aggressively developing a deal pipeline by working closely with the Coverage Teams.
Relationship Management
Maintaining excellent relationships with clients, sponsors, and relevant official stakeholders (Government, regulators).
Maintaining good relationships with colleagues, especially Coverage Managers within the Bank.
Process and Reporting
Ensuring full compliance with regulators, authorities, and Ecobank Group respective policies.
Accuracy and timely submission of all reporting, financial data, and statements.
Preparing reporting and financial returns as required with the Finance Business partner.
People Management and Development
Providing support and coaching/training for all staff to build capacity.
Motivating, leading, and developing the Advisory and Capital Market Team across the footprint to achieve consistent profitability through clear target settings and appraisals.
Requirements, Qualifications, and Skills
Education: Minimum of a Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, or related fields of study.
Experience: At least 8 years of experience with a track record in a client-facing role.
Languages: Fluent written and spoken French and English.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, especially with advanced Excel skills.
Market Knowledge: Knowledge of African markets or a relevant Industry background.
Credit Knowledge: Good understanding of credit.
Judgment: Sound business judgment to quickly assess opportunities and risks.
Soft Skills: Cooperative working style, strong communication, results-driven, people management skills, inclusive, flexible, and sensitive to client culture.
