Standard Bank Group, the largest African banking group by assets, is seeking a Business Development Manager to join its team in Nairobi. The role is focused on driving the growth of the SME segment through strategic sales distribution, revenue generation, and market expansion.
The Role
The primary purpose of this position is to manage sales distribution and develop strategic relationships within the SME sector to drive revenue growth. This involves the acquisition of new clients, retention of existing ones, and the active cross-selling of Bank products and insurance services while maintaining a high standard of customer experience and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and optimize sales distribution channels to meet revenue targets.
Drive market presence by identifying and establishing strategic relationships in the SME segment.
Execute client acquisition strategies to sign up new clients.
Develop and implement retention strategies for the existing client portfolio.
Oversee client relationship management to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Identify and capitalize on cross-selling opportunities for various bank and insurance products.
Ensure all processes adhere to the Bank's governance and procedural standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: A First Degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, or a related field.
Certifications: Must have a relevant professional qualification such as IIK (Insurance Institute of Kenya) or ACII (Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute).
Membership: Active membership in a relevant professional body.
Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in insurance sales, specifically with leadership exposure.
Track Record: Proven success in achieving sales targets and managing diverse client portfolios.
