Role Summary
The Asset Based Finance (ABF) Lead Generator is responsible for achieving agreed targets in line with business objectives through the proactive selling of all the bank’s products and the provision of excellent customer service. This role focuses on identifying customer needs and converting leads into successful Asset Based Finance sales.
Key Responsibilities
Sales to Retail Customers (60%)
- Deliver exceptional sales performance by identifying and meeting customer needs through selling Asset Based Finance and cross-selling other Absa Bank products and services.
- Provide direct “hands-on” sales support through quality lead generation and effective follow-up to convert leads into sales.
- Participate in Asset Based Finance product campaigns, ensuring product parameters are clearly explained to customers.
- Agree upon, meet, and exceed targets for specific sales campaigns.
- Maintain personal sales performance statistics for management information usage.
- Manage ABF products and channel sales targets to contribute to direct sales objectives.
- Respond directly to customer inquiries or refer to the ABF Business Development Manager (BDM) when uncertain about product delivery.
- Complete account opening documentation with customers and submit to the Line Manager for review.
- Perform financial analysis and statement reviews on customer accounts for both Retail and Business Banking customers.
- Advise customers on loan denials and report these to the Line Manager daily.
- Provide customers with contact information for their specific holding branch once accounts are opened.
Customer Service (15%)
- Own and resolve customer queries and complaints regarding Asset Based Finance in a timely manner.
- Escalate unresolved queries to the Line Manager as necessary.
- Build relationships with internal service providers (ABF Operations, Sanctioners, and DSC) to ensure quick turnaround times.
- Notify customers when new loans are approved and encourage timely draw-downs.
Operational Rigour, Compliance, and Controls (15%)
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, the Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework, and internal Absa Policies.
- Maintain high accuracy in all new account applications and ABF loan documentation.
- Follow Retail end-to-end account opening processes, ensuring KYC compliance.
- Adhere to general Absa operational risk requirements, including Health & Safety standards and anti-money laundering regulations.
Team & Personal Development (10%)
- Share knowledge and experience with other Lead Generators in the team.
- Provide coverage for team members during absences or excessive workloads.
- Deputize for the Line Manager when required.
- Agree on annual performance objectives and participate in development programs and training to improve personal performance.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BSc) or Higher National Diploma (HND).
- Understanding of Asset Based Finance (ABF) products.
- Ability to conduct basic financial statement reviews and analysis.
- Knowledge of KYC (Know Your Customer) and anti-money laundering regulations.
