The Transport & Customs Intern will learn the daily operations of the transport department under the guidance of the Transport and Customs Manager (TCM). This role focuses on understanding the collaboration between Procurement, Warehouse, and Supply Operation Departments to ensure efficient logistical support for humanitarian missions.\n\n### Key Learning Areas and Responsibilities\n- Learn to coordinate clearing agents' tasks to ensure freights are cleared on time with minimal costs.\n- Learn how to coordinate and monitor the transportation of goods in and out of MSF Supply Kenya until delivery to missions.\n- Monitor the implementation of Transport and Customs-related procedures, ensuring compliance with MSF standards, protocols, and procedures.\n- Support in consolidation of packing lists for goods received at MSF Supply Kenya warehouse and create freight documents in the system (nodhos) for pre-clearance.\n- Collaborating with mission Transport Managers and the Intersectional Customs Manager (MICO) to follow up on tax exemption files for faster receipt.\n- Understand Export Processing Zone (EPZ) Warehouse operations and management, including record-keeping for the Transit Go-Down (TGD) and filing returns with KRA and EPZA.\n- Follow up with clearing agents and transporters for Certificates of Exports (COE) and ensure warehouse licenses are renewed on time without penalties.\n- Learn to screen transport invoices for validation, process them for signature by the General Manager, and forward to Finance for payment.\n- Participate in the preparation of monthly reports and KPIs. Develop a video explaining the tools and ordering process for international orders.\n\n### Qualifications and Requirements\n- Bachelor’s degree with specialization in Logistics/Supply Chain or a related field.\n- Must have graduated not more than six (6) months ago.\n- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.\n- Computer literacy.\n- High attention to detail and accuracy.\n- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.\n- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Swahili.\n- Requirement to write a discovery report or feedback at the end of the internship period.\n\n### Key Competencies\n- Attention to detail\n- Organization and record-keeping\n- Integrity and confidentiality\n- Ability to follow procedures and instructions\n- Teamwork and accountability
