Our client, a leading telecommunications provider, is seeking to recruit a Trade Development Representative (TDR) to be based in Nanyuki. Reporting to the Area Sales Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to conduct regular channel visitations to drive retailer awareness and optimize the turnaround on SIM cards and mobile money float. The successful candidate will focus on enhancing visibility and maintaining high merchandising standards at points of purchase for SSOs and T-Kash agents.
Key Responsibilities
Agent Recruitment and Mapping: Effectively manage the identification and recruitment of Agents, specifically targeting mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores.
Route Management (Call Rate): Visit SSOs and Agents regularly according to agreed route plans (beat plans) to maintain consistent support and oversight.
Training and Business Support: Provide all necessary tools for transactions at agent outlets and conduct training for SSOs and T-Kash Agents on business processes.
Compliance Training: Train agents on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and SSOs on the Know Your Customer (KYC) process regarding SIM registration (SIMREG).
Stock and Float Management: Monitor and enforce the 1.5x stock rule for agents; ensure SSOs maintain adequate SIM stock for new registrations and activations.
Merchandising: Develop and uphold merchandising standards by ensuring the availability and placement of promotional materials at agent and SSO outlets.
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in a sales and distribution role, preferably within the FMCG or Telecommunications sectors.
