Job Description
Halisi Family Hospital is seeking a Theatre Technologist (Locum) to join our team at our 25-bed multi-specialty facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that surgical procedures are conducted in a safe, sterile, and well-prepared environment. Key duties include supporting surgical teams, maintaining theatre equipment and supplies, and preparing both patients and instruments before and after surgeries.
Responsibilities
Ensure the surgical environment is safe, sterile, and fully prepared for procedures according to hospital protocols.
Support surgical teams during operations through effective instrument handling and technical assistance.
Maintain and manage theatre equipment, ensuring all tools are functional and sterile.
Manage medical supplies inventory for the theatre.
Prepare patients for surgery and manage post-operative care of surgical instruments.
Adhere to strict infection control and sterilization standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma in Perioperative Theatre Technology from a recognized institution.
At least three (3) years of relevant work experience in a busy theatre environment.
Must be registered with the Kenya Health Professions Oversight Authority (KHPOA).
Possession of a valid Practice License.
Valid competency in BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) is an added advantage.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
