Kisii University is seeking a qualified Technologist (Senior Technologist II) to support its academic and research functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing laboratory environments, facilitating practical learning for students, and ensuring that all scientific equipment is maintained to high standards, contributing to the university's mission of high-quality research and academic excellence.
Responsibilities
Instructional Support: Prepare, conduct, and supervise practical classes or laboratory courses for students.
Research Contribution: Actively participate in ongoing research initiatives and provide support for student projects.
Equipment Maintenance: Service and maintain scientific equipment in accordance with operational instruction manuals to ensure accuracy and safety.
Inventory Management: Ensure that necessary equipment spare parts and laboratory supplies are consistently available.
Technical Assessment: Assess, determine, and evaluate the requirements and resources needed for assigned practical work.
General Duties: Perform any other official duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements for Appointment
To be eligible for appointment to the position of Senior Technologist II, the candidate must have:
Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field from a recognized institution.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a laboratory technologist in the relevant area or in a busy hospital environment.
