Role Overview
The Technical Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership in the design, implementation, and management of broadcast and digital technology systems to ensure seamless, high-quality media operations. The role supports the organization’s digital-first vision by driving innovation, strengthening infrastructure reliability, and enabling effective multi-platform content distribution. This position reports to the Head of Media.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Roadmap: Develop and execute a forward-looking technology roadmap that drives digital-first growth, innovation, and seamless multi-platform content distribution.
Technical Operations: Oversee end-to-end technical operations for TV, radio, and digital platforms to ensure high-quality production and uninterrupted service delivery.
Signal Transmission: Ensure consistent, high-quality signal transmission and distribution across all channels, maintaining broadcast standards and optimal audience reach.
System Maintenance: Maintain high availability of all technical systems through proactive monitoring, preventive maintenance, and rapid fault resolution.
Risk Management: Establish and manage redundancy systems, backup frameworks, and disaster recovery protocols to guarantee continuous broadcasting operations.
Innovation and Integration: Drive integration of broadcast, IT, and digital systems while adopting emerging technologies such as IP broadcasting, cloud solutions, and streaming platforms.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing technical team through structured performance management, training, and a culture of accountability and innovation.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with content, commercial, and digital teams to align technical capabilities with programming, marketing strategies, and audience engagement goals.
Compliance and Budgeting: Ensure regulatory compliance, ICT security, and effective management of budgets, assets, and vendor relationships while driving performance monitoring and continuous improvement.
Ministry Alignment: Champion Christ-centered values through integrity, discipline, and active participation in ministry life, serving as a spiritual role model within the organization.
Requirements
Must be a born-again, mature Christian who conforms to the CITAM statement of faith.
Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Engineering, Telecommunications, ICT, Media Technology, or related field (Diploma with significant relevant experience may be considered).
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in broadcast or digital media technical operations, with demonstrated leadership in technical teams.
Strong understanding of broadcast equipment, studio production systems, signal transmission, and digital content distribution (cameras, vision switchers, audio mixers, intercoms, lighting rigs etc.)
Knowledge of modern broadcast and digital workflows including streaming technologies, IP-based transmission, and hybrid broadcast systems.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced media environment.
Flexible and willing to work outside normal hours when required for live events or special productions.
Spiritually mature with a personal faith and values aligned with the ministry of Hope Media.
