Role Overview
The Content & Editorial Manager provides visionary, spiritual, and strategic leadership over all content across broadcast and digital platforms, ensuring alignment with the organization’s Christ-centered mission. The role drives an integrated, digital-first content strategy that enhances audience engagement, strengthens brand identity, and delivers both ministry impact and commercial value. This position reports to the Head of Media and is essential for maintaining theological accuracy and brand consistency across all Hope Media platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Spiritual Leadership: Provide Christ-centered leadership by modeling integrity, spiritual discipline, and active participation in ministry initiatives.
- Strategic Content Development: Develop and execute a holistic, digital-first content strategy that integrates ministry objectives with audience growth and commercial outcomes.
- Editorial Excellence: Establish and enforce editorial standards, content policies, and SOPs to ensure theological accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- End-to-End Oversight: Oversee the entire content process from ideation to distribution, ensuring consistency, relevance, and excellence across all platforms.
- Brand Stewardship: Safeguard brand identity by ensuring all content aligns with organizational tone, visual standards, and audience expectations.
- Audience Growth: Drive audience expansion and engagement through data-driven insights, innovative formats, and strategic content initiatives.
- Innovation & Research: Champion research, emerging trends, and new storytelling approaches to enhance content relevance and competitiveness.
- Team Development: Build and lead high-performing teams through mentorship, collaboration, and continuous professional and spiritual development.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with technical, commercial, and ministry teams while exploring strategic partnerships that enhance content reach.
- Performance Management: Monitor KPIs, manage budgets effectively, and drive continuous improvement through data reporting.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Faith: Must be a born-again, mature Christian who conforms to the CITAM statement of faith.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, or Media Studies. A Master’s degree in Communication or related fields is an advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar editorial or content management role.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of the media industry and business goals, focusing on audience engagement and revenue.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of content strategy, digital storytelling, audience analytics, and media production workflows.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary content teams within a fast-evolving media ecosystem.
- Redemptive Journalism: Demonstrated commitment to redemptive storytelling reflecting biblical truth and shaping culture.
- Skills: Exceptional leadership, editorial judgment, and communication skills.
- Tools: Proficient in digital Content Management Systems (CMS), social analytics, and broadcast planning tools.
