Reporting to the Head of Emergency Rescue & Training Services, the Paramedic Team Leader will provide clinical and operational leadership to ambulance teams. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of emergency medical care, team coordination, compliance, and continuous professional development of paramedic and dispatch personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision: Manage day-to-day ambulance operations, ensuring timely and professional emergency response.
Mentorship: Provide clinical oversight and mentorship to paramedics and EMT crews.
Rescue Management: Provide guidelines on managing rescue calls and oversee medical event coverages.
Protocol Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to clinical protocols, infection prevention, and control measures.
Resource Management: Oversee ambulance cleanliness, equipment readiness, and manage inventory and stock levels of drugs and consumables.
Personnel Management: Develop team schedules and manage duty rotas.
Training: Organize and lead CMEs (Continuous Medical Education), skills drills, and identify ongoing training needs.
Asset Monitoring: Maintain EMS assets and monitor performance indicators.
Reporting: Compile comprehensive operational and clinical reports.
Requirements
Education: Degree in Nursing or Clinical Medicine.
Specialization: Specialization in Critical Care, Trauma, or Emergency will be an added advantage.
Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and PHTLS/ATLS.
Licensing: Must be a Registered Nurse or Clinical Officer with a valid practicing license from the relevant professional body.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role in EMS or critical care settings.
Skills: Strong clinical judgment, team-building abilities, proficiency in EMS protocols, reporting systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
