Role Overview
Food for the Hungry (FH) is an international relief and development organization that answers God’s call to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the poor in more than 26 countries. The Talent and Culture Officer provides comprehensive Talent & Culture support across FH Kenya’s Country Office. The role ensures effective implementation of T&C policies, programs, and related activities, supporting managers and staff in all T&C matters to enhance organizational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding
Coordinate the entire recruitment cycle in liaison with the Talent & Culture Manager and hiring managers, from formulating job advertisements to arranging interviews.
Ensure vacancies are advertised appropriately with clearly stated job descriptions and that due process is followed in every resourcing process.
Handle longlisting and shortlisting of candidates.
Provide timely feedback to unsuccessful candidates and conduct reference checks for successful ones.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of staff records (National ID/Passport, Job Descriptions, CVs, etc.).
Coordinate staff onboarding programs, including preparing contracts and statutory documents for newly hired staff, temporary staff, and interns.
Issue and report on onboarding surveys for new staff.
Maintain schedules for contract expiry dates and probation periods, taking necessary actions for renewals or terminations.
Coordinate staff offboarding processes, including exit interviews, final settlements, and ensuring proper handover documentation.
Performance Management & Employee Relations
Support the objective-setting process, mid-year reviews, and end-of-year appraisals.
Coordinate the annual performance evaluation process and track review cycles to ensure timely reporting.
Maintain accurate records of performance evaluations and recommendations for development.
Provide guidance on employee concerns, grievances, or conflicts, escalating serious cases to the Talent & Culture Manager.
Support the rollout of well-being, recognition, and staff care programs.
Manage leave schedules and balances via the Orange HR platform, ensuring compliance with leave policies.
Support staff morning devotions and help communicate a culture reflecting organizational values and vision.
Learning and Development
Facilitate staff onboarding on the e-learning platform.
Coordinate mandatory and FH Foundations trainings while tracking attendance and completion.
Collaborate with line managers to identify and document training needs to inform development plans.
Support succession planning in collaboration with the Talent & Culture Manager.
Skills & Competencies

Strong administrative, organizational, and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.

Knowledge of HR principles, best practices, and labor laws/government regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications
Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration (specialization in HR).
3-5 years of prior work experience in a fast-paced HR environment within an NGO.
Registered member of IHRM in good standing.
Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP).
