Role Overview
Taita Taveta County Public Service Board is seeking to recruit a Sonographer II on Permanent & Pensionable terms. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic medical sonography procedures, ensuring high standards of patient care and diagnostic accuracy within the county's medical facilities. The salary scale is as provided by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
Responsibilities and Duties
Operating ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images of internal organs, tissues, and blood flow.
Preparing and positioning patients for imaging procedures and explaining the process to ensure comfort and cooperation.
Analyzing technical information and providing summaries of findings to medical staff/physicians.
Ensuring the maintenance and calibration of imaging equipment.
Maintaining a clean, safe, and professional clinical environment.
Keeping accurate patient records and digital imaging data.
Requirements for Appointment
Must be a Kenyan Citizen.
Hold a Diploma in any of the following: Diagnostic Radiography/Medical Imaging Sciences, Ultrasound, Computerized Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, and Digital Medical imaging equipment or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Show merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Be a member of the Kenya Association of Radiologists (KAR) or a relevant professional body.
Possess a certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
