Role Overview
The Taita Taveta County Public Service Board is seeking to recruit a qualified individual for the position of Sonographer II. This is a permanent and pensionable position within the county health services, focused on delivering diagnostic imaging support to patients. The successful candidate will work under the basic salary scale as provided for by the Salaries and Remunerations Commission.
Requirements for Appointment
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Must be a Kenyan Citizen.
Must hold a Diploma in any of the following fields: Diagnostic Radiography, Medical Imaging Sciences, Ultrasound, Computerized Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, Digital Medical imaging equipment, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Must be a member of the Kenya Association of Radiologists (KAR) professional body.
Must possess a certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Must have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Performing various diagnostic imaging procedures to assist in medical diagnosis.
Operating and maintaining specialized medical imaging equipment including Ultrasound, CT scanners, and MRI machines.
Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and medical standards during imaging procedures.
Managing patient records and imaging results accurately.
Collaborating with other medical professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
