The Senior Relationship Officer – Bancassurance will report to the Branch Manager and will be responsible for the acquisition and growth of sustainable Bancassurance and Bank business on Retail life, Pensions, and non-life. This role involves collaboration with cluster bank branches by profiling customers, establishing insurance needs, engaging them with relevant products, and managing the placement of covers in line with the overall strategy of the intermediary and the Bank.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Development
Take full responsibility for all product lines and business development for new business portfolios.
Achieve business growth of the overall Business portfolio (Both Risk & Investment), ensuring targets are consistently achieved.
Ensure each branch within the cluster achieves set business income for retail life products.
Continuously train branch staff on insurance products, onboarding documentation, and claims processes.
Ensure customers accurately complete required forms with proper documentation.
Responsible for the timely movement of documents between clients and the insurer.
Prepare accurate weekly and monthly production reports.
Work closely with cluster branches for referrals, pipeline building, and cross-selling to existing customers.
Gather market intelligence on competitors and trends to identify new opportunities and assist in product customization.
Marketing & Brand Management
Create good relationships with cluster Branch Managers to ensure value-added support for bancassurance business.
Provide clear direction based on market analysis of local area and consumer trends.
Establish relationships with key clients or business influencers in the local area.
Enhance product awareness by communicating and offering solutions that have value for customers and shareholders.
Relationship Management & Customer Experience
Mentor Bancassurance Branch champions to spearhead insurance products in each branch.
Drive customer satisfaction and positive advocacy to lead to faster organic growth.
Achieve target scores for CSAT, CES, and NPS.
Coordinate branch initiatives aimed at gathering feedback from customers on service standards.
Identify financial and non-financial requirements of HNW clients through financial needs analysis.
Personal Leadership & Development
Identify a personal career path and prepare an annual Personal Development Plan (PDP).
Adhere to bank policies, procedures, and the code of conduct.
Ensure closure of identified audit deficiencies within stipulated timelines.
Achieve the set number of learning/training hours through E-learning and internal activities.
Risk & Compliance
Comply with the Bank’s AML & CFT policy as defined in CBK Prudential guidelines.
Implement risk control processes to minimize potential losses.
Ensure the bank does not transact with persons on sanctions lists.
Report any suspicious transactions or activities immediately to the compliance function.
Requirements and Qualifications
Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Insurance or Business.
Work Experience: 2-3 Years’ experience in insurance sales management in insurance/or Bancassurance, including a minimum of 1-year sales experience.
Professional Certification: Diploma in insurance or a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) in Insurance, B Com Insurance Option, or BSC Actuarial Science.
Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge in MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint).
Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal and business communication skills, high presentability, strong business acumen, and good decision-making abilities.
