Tom Mboya University, which traces its roots to the Maseno University Learning Centre established in 2010, is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Senior Lecturer in Public Health. This role involves academic instruction, advanced research, and postgraduate supervision to support the university's growth and academic excellence in the county of Homa Bay.
Responsibilities
Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Public Health and related disciplines.
Conduct high-impact research and publish findings in refereed scholarly journals.
Supervise and mentor postgraduate students through their research projects and theses to successful completion.
Provide academic leadership and participate in departmental and university-wide committees.
Contribute to the development and review of curriculum within the Public Health department.
Register and maintain membership with relevant professional bodies where applicable.
Requirements for Appointment
Academic Qualifications: Must possess an earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in Public Health or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
Work Experience: At least three (3) years of teaching or research experience at the university level as a Lecturer/Research Fellow OR six (6) years of relevant research or industry experience.
Publication Record: A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, with at least twenty-four (24) of those points earned from refereed scholarly journals.
Postgraduate Supervision: Proven track record of supervising at least three (3) postgraduate students to completion as a Lecturer or equivalent.
Professional Membership: Registration with a relevant professional body is required where applicable.
