Tom Mboya University (TMU) is seeking to recruit a Senior Lecturer in Governance and Public Policy. This is a senior academic position responsible for teaching, conducting research, and providing academic leadership within the department. The university traces its roots to the Maseno University Learning Centre and has evolved into a full university dedicated to academic excellence.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality lectures and tutorials to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Governance and Public Policy.
Conduct original research and publish findings in refereed scholarly journals.
Supervise and mentor postgraduate students (Masters and PhD) through to the completion of their research projects.
Develop and review academic curricula to ensure they remain relevant and meet industry standards.
Participate in departmental meetings, university committees, and other administrative duties as assigned.
Engage with relevant professional bodies and the community to promote the university's academic profile.
Requirements for Appointment
An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in Governance, Public Policy, or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
At least three (3) years of teaching/research experience at the university level as a Lecturer/Research Fellow OR six (6) years of research/industry experience.
A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least twenty-four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals.
Successful supervision of a minimum of three (3) post-graduate students to completion as a Lecturer or equivalent.
Registration with a relevant professional body (where applicable).
