Tom Mboya University is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Lecturer specializing in Data Science. The successful candidate will join the faculty to contribute to academic excellence through teaching, research, and postgraduate supervision. This role requires a scholar with a proven track record in the field of Data Science, Business Analysis, and Artificial Intelligence.
Responsibilities and Duties
Deliver high-quality lectures and tutorials in Data Science and related disciplines at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Conduct advanced research and contribute to the body of knowledge in the relevant field.
Supervise postgraduate students through their research and thesis development to successful completion.
Develop and review academic curricula to ensure they meet current industry standards and academic rigour.
Participate in university and departmental administrative duties, including committee service.
Provide academic mentorship and guidance to students.
Engage with professional bodies and industry partners to promote the university's research profile.
Qualifications and Requirements
Must have an earned Ph.D or equivalent degree qualification in Data Science or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
At least three (3) years of teaching or research experience at the university level as a Lecturer or Research Fellow, or alternatively, six (6) years of significant research or industry experience.
A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least twenty-four (24) must be from refereed scholarly journals.
Successfully supervised a minimum of three (3) post-graduate students to completion as a Lecturer or equivalent.
Must be registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
