Senior Lecturer (Cyber Security and Forensics)

Role Overview

The University is seeking a Senior Lecturer specialized in Cyber Security and Forensics. This is a senior academic position focused on delivering high-quality education, conducting advanced research, and providing mentorship to postgraduate students. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute significantly to the university's academic and research output in the field of ICT and Computer Science.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide leadership in teaching and research within the specialized field of Cyber Security and Forensics.
• Conduct lectures and practical training sessions for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Lead and participate in research projects, aiming for publication in high-impact refereed scholarly journals.
• Supervise and mentor postgraduate students through their research and thesis writing to successful completion.
• Contribute to the development and review of academic curricula to ensure they remain relevant to industry trends.
• Participate in university administration and committee work as required.
• Maintain active engagement with relevant professional bodies.

Requirements for Appointment

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in Cyber Security, Forensics, or a closely related field from an accredited and recognized university.
• Experience: At least three (3) years of teaching or research experience at the university level as a Lecturer or Research Fellow, OR at least six (6) years of significant research or industry experience.
• Research Output: A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least twenty-four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals.
• Mentorship: Successfully supervised a minimum of three (3) post-graduate students to completion as a Lecturer or equivalent.
• Professionalism: Registered with a relevant professional body where applicable.
