Tom Mboya University (TMU), which traces its roots to the Maseno University Learning Centre established in Homa Bay town in 2010, is seeking a qualified Senior Lecturer in Chemical Engineering. The university is dedicated to academic excellence and is looking for an individual to provide academic leadership and contribute to its growing engineering faculty.
Responsibilities
Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Chemical Engineering.
Conduct high-quality research and contribute to the university's publication output.
Supervise postgraduate students (Master's and Ph.D.) through to the successful completion of their research projects.
Engage in curriculum development and review within the department.
Provide academic leadership and mentorship to junior staff and students.
Participate in departmental and university administrative functions and committees.
Ensure compliance with professional engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements for Appointment
Must have an earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in Chemical Engineering or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
At least three (3) years of teaching or research experience at the university level as a Lecturer/Research Fellow OR six (6) years of research/industry experience.
A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, with at least twenty-four (24) points from refereed scholarly journals.
Successful supervision of a minimum of three (3) postgraduate students to completion as a Lecturer or equivalent.
Registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., Engineers Board of Kenya) where applicable.
