Role Overview
Tom Mboya University is seeking a Senior Lecturer specializing in Building Technology and Building Science. This is a senior academic position focused on delivering high-quality instruction, leading research initiatives, and mentoring postgraduate students within the field of building and construction. The successful candidate will contribute to the academic excellence of the institution through teaching, scholarly publications, and professional engagement.
Responsibilities
Deliver lectures and conduct tutorials in Building Technology and Building Science at the university level.
Supervise postgraduate students (Master's and PhD) through to the completion of their research projects and theses.
Conduct original research and contribute to the body of knowledge in the relevant field.
Publish research findings in refereed scholarly journals.
Participate in curriculum development and review to ensure industry relevance.
Engage with professional bodies and industry stakeholders to enhance the university's profile.
Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Department or Faculty.
Requirements for Appointment
An earned Ph.D or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
At least three (3) years teaching / research experience at the university level as a lecturer/Research Fellow or six (6) years research / industry experience.
A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least twenty-four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals.
Supervised a minimum of three (3) post-graduate students to completion as a Lecturer or equivalent.
Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
