The Scientific Coordinator will support the execution of a portfolio of conservation projects through the IUCN Science Team. The role primarily focuses on coordination, stakeholder engagement, and project management, centered around the application of IUCN Standard Knowledge Products such as the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species and the Species Threat Abatement and Restoration (STAR) metric. Most projects are implemented jointly with IUCN Commissions and peer conservation institutions, aiming for high-impact outputs including peer-reviewed publications and presentations at global policy conferences.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n- Organize, facilitate, and lead workshops with stakeholders (governments, conservation NGOs, businesses) to calibrate STAR analyses at specific sites.\n- Serve as a liaison between end-users and technical experts, including members of the IUCN Species Survival Commission (SSC).\n- Provide project management support including tracking timelines, preparing meeting documentation, and coordinating reporting processes.\n- Support the mobilization of regional data and assist in the preparation of scientific and policy-related publications and presentations.\n- Coordinate training sessions for staff and partners on the use of IUCN tools like the Integrated Biodiversity Assessment Tool (IBAT).\n- Assist with data compilation for the World Database of Key Biodiversity Areas and the World Database of Protected Areas.\n\n### Requirements and Skills\n- MA or MSc (or higher) in a conservation-related scientific field.\n- Professional fluency in both English and French is mandatory.\n- Proven ability to lead meetings and represent an international institution professionally.\n- Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple simultaneous projects.\n- Proficiency in working with scientific data and tools like IBAT.\n- Familiarity with the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework is useful.\n- Experience working in conservation contexts in the Global South.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested candidates should apply online through the IUCN Human Resources Management System by the deadline of March 8, 2026.
