This position is responsible for implementing strategies to drive the sales performance of Retail Islamic Banking products through efficient allocation of resources and managing priorities to deliver the Bank’s profitability goals. The Retail Sales Manager will plan, direct, and manage sales activities across Retail Islamic Banking market segments in addition to driving customer experience at the Islamic Banking (IB) customer touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Implementation: Execute sales strategies to deliver superior sales performance through efficient resource allocation and management of priorities.
Performance Management: Set targets and drive the retail sales team towards achieving and exceeding goals through continuous monitoring, review, and communication.
Client Relationship Deepening: Drive cross-selling by tailoring liability and asset solutions to deepen client relationships at the branch level through Business Bankers and the IB Sales team.
Product Development & Collaboration: Collaborate with product partners to develop product bundles, pricing, and campaigns to improve cross-product holding ratios and portfolio growth.
Service Delivery Improvement: Identify and develop product solutions to meet the needs of the Islamic Banking segment and improve service delivery through turnaround times and process improvements.
Credit Coordination: Liaise with the credit division to ensure that credit criteria is robust and balanced for the growth of Islamic Banking.
Portfolio Quality: Ensure the quality of the loan book and maintain the non-performing portfolio to a minimum as per industry best practice.
Customer Experience: Promote excellent customer experience by advocating for customer requirements across various functions in the bank.
Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Islamic Banking standards, Sharia’h guidelines, and the Bank’s policies and procedures.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Branch Managers to drive account utilization and sustainable deposits.
Income Generation: Drive transactional income from Islamic Banking clients through effective service and cross-selling.
Risk Management: Ensure quality portfolio management by effective identification of risks and their mitigations, including KYC requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics, or a business-related field from a recognized University.
A minimum of 4 years’ experience in Banking, of which at least 2 years must be in Relationship Management.
In-depth knowledge of Islamic banking principles and Sharia’h law application.
Professional Certification in Sales & Marketing or Islamic Banking is an added advantage.
Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to make operational and routine decisions in a timely and effective manner.
Resilience and the ability to manage emotions in a mature and composed manner.
