Stratostaff is seeking a Resident Actuary to lead and manage its actuarial department. This senior role involves developing departmental strategies, leading a high-performing team, and delivering complex actuarial valuations including IFRS 17 and IAS 19. The successful candidate will partner with senior management to provide technical insights that drive business growth and ensure regulatory compliance.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n\n\n* Develop and implement actuarial department strategies aligned with organizational objectives.\n* Lead, mentor, and build capability within a high-performing actuarial team.\n* Set KPIs and drive accountability through performance management.\n* Provide actuarial insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.\n\n\n* Oversee actuarial valuations, including IFRS 17, IAS 19, and insurance product pricing.\n* Develop pension scheme investment policies and strategic plans.\n* Design and set up Income Drawdown and Post-Retirement Medical Funds.\n* Perform calculations for healthcare cost projections and assess benefit changes for medical schemes.\n* Validate defined benefit scheme member statements and benefit calculations.\n\n\n* Support revenue growth by preparing prospecting proposals and technical input for RFQs/RFPs.\n* Ensure timely collection of fees for services rendered (Credit Control).\n* Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to mitigate risks.\n\n### Key Result Areas\n* New business revenue generation and client retention.\n* High-quality and timely service delivery (TAT).\n* Accurate actuarial valuations and credible reporting.\n* Efficient debt collection within 60 days.\n\n### Qualifications and Requirements\n* Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Commerce, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).\n* Fellowship of the Institute of Actuaries or another recognized actuarial institute.\n* Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.\n* Advanced proficiency in actuarial software, VBA, and MS Excel.\n\n### Skills and Competencies\n* Strong leadership and performance management capability.\n* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.\n* Proficiency in budgeting and financial management.\n* Effective communication, report writing, and presentation skills.\n* Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online through the Stratostaff application portal on MyJobMag:
