Role Overview
The County Government of Kitui is seeking to recruit 77 Registered Nurse III professionals to provide essential nursing care and healthcare services within the county. The role involves assessing, planning, and implementing nursing interventions across various clinical settings including maternal care, child health, and general wards to improve patient outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Patient Assessment and Care: Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions and evaluating patient’s outcomes.
Child Health Services: Providing appropriate healthcare services, including Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI).
Immunization: Administering routine and specialized immunizations.
Maternal Care: Managing Prevention of Mother-To-Child transmission (PMCT) protocols, providing antenatal care, and conducting deliveries.
Health Education: Providing health education and counseling to patients/clients and the community on identified health needs.
Clinical Administration: Referring patients and clients appropriately, facilitating patients’ admission, and initiating discharge plans.
Record Management: Maintaining records on patients’/clients’ health conditions and care while collecting and compiling data.
Safety Standards: Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment.
Requirements
Be a Citizen of Kenya.
Hold a Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery, or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya or relevant professional body.
Valid Practicing License from the relevant professional body.
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
