Job Description
The County Government of Kitui is looking to fill three (3) positions for Counselling Psychologists. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing essential mental health support and psychological services within the county's healthcare facilities. This role involves direct patient interaction, assessment, and the development of comprehensive care strategies to improve the well-being of the community.
Key Responsibilities
Patient History: Conduct thorough interviews to take the clinical history of patients.
Assessment and Diagnosis: Perform psychological assessments and provide diagnoses for clients based on clinical findings.
Treatment Planning: Formulate and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
Clinical Interventions: Prescribe appropriate psychological interventions and manage referrals to other health professionals or specialists when necessary.
Data Management: Collect and analyze data relevant to mental health services in the facility.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential patient records.
Requirements and Qualifications
Must be a Citizen of Kenya.
Possess a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Counselling Psychology, Health Psychology, or any other relevant and equivalent qualification in a health-related field from a recognized institution.
Have completed at least one (1) year of internship practice in a health facility under the supervision of a senior psychologist or registered mental health professional.
Possess a certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
