Role Overview
The Registered Clinical Officer I (Anaesthesia) is a specialized medical professional responsible for providing comprehensive clinical care with a specific focus on anaesthesia services. This role involves both general clinical duties, such as diagnosing and treating common ailments, and specialized tasks related to surgical support, including preoperative assessments and the administration of anaesthesia under the supervision of senior medical staff.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care: Take patient history, examine, diagnose, and treat common ailments.
Anaesthesia Services: Assist in preoperative assessments, administer anaesthesia, and monitor patients closely during surgical procedures.
Post-operative Management: Provide necessary care and monitoring for patients in the recovery phase after surgery under the guidance of senior anaesthetists.
Community Health: Implement community healthcare activities in coordination with other health professionals.
Counseling & Education: Guide and counsel patients, clients, and staff on various health issues; sensitize the community on preventive and promotive health measures.
Surgical Procedures: Perform minor surgical procedures based on training and competency levels.
Data Management: Collect, compile, and manage clinical data for reporting and healthcare planning.
Patient Referrals: Facilitate the referral of patients and clients to appropriate specialized health facilities when necessary.
Requirements and Qualifications
Diploma in Clinical Medicine & Surgery or Clinical Medicine & Community Health.
Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine – Anaesthesia.
A valid anaesthesia practicing license issued by the Clinical Officers Council.
Official Registration Certificate from the Clinical Officers Council.
Certificate in Computer Application Skills.
