Role Purpose

The role involves assessing patient needs, planning and implementing nursing care, and participating in various health programs including immunization and maternal care. The position is designed to provide professional growth through supervised clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Patient Care: Assessing patients and establishing their health care needs; planning and implementing specific nursing interventions.
• Maternal and Child Health: Providing healthcare services including Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI), immunization, Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT), ante-natal care, and delivery.
• Health Education: Providing health education and counselling to patients, clients, and the community to promote wellness.
• Patient Management: Referring patients appropriately to other facilities, facilitating admissions, and initiating discharge plans.
• Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of patients' and clients' health conditions.
• Clinical Environment: Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment for both staff and patients.
• Data Management: Collecting and compiling relevant health data for reporting and analysis.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A Certificate in any of the following: Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nursing, Kenya Enrolled Nursing, Kenya Enrolled Midwifery, or Kenya Enrolled Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry.
• A Registration Certificate from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• A Valid Practicing License from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• A Certificate in Computer Application Skills.
