The Regional Clinical Lead is a pivotal role within the CHAP Stawisha program, responsible for providing technical leadership and oversight to cluster staff and supported health facilities. The position involves guiding county engagement, mentoring regional teams, and building the capacity of facility staff to deliver high-quality health services. A primary focus is the technical leadership of HIV care, treatment, and TB/HIV integrated services.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Oversight
Provide oversight for CHAP Stawisha staff supporting the cluster, including county engagement and capacity building.
Offer technical leadership and mentorship to the regional team and supported facilities.
Perform joint supervision of HIV care, treatment, and TB/HIV services in collaboration with County and Sub-County Health Management Teams (C/SHMTs).
Act as the primary liaison between CHAP Stawisha and county health teams by participating in regional and county TB/HIV technical working groups.
Program Implementation
Plan and implement HIV prevention, care, treatment, and TB services at supported facilities.
Support Site Improvement and Monitoring Systems (SIMS) at the facility level through onsite mentorship.
Provide clinical systems mentorship to facility staff and lead Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) efforts for TB and HIV services.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
Prepare detailed work plans and technical reports; contribute to budget preparations.
Review regional program performance data to develop quarterly review presentations.
Monitor HIV care activities, using data to inform service quality and performance in facilities.
Mentor facility staff on utilizing data to improve patient management.
Research and Innovation
Participate in program operational research to strengthen evidence-based practices.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB), registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC); OR a Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Clinical Medicine, registered with the Clinical Officers Council.
At least 3 years of progressive HIV-related clinical experience.
At least 3 years’ experience working within a HIV donor-funded program.
Strong capacity for mentorship and team leadership.
