Job Description
The National Gender Equality Commission (NGEC) is a constitutional Commission established to promote gender equality and freedom from discrimination. The Records Management Assistant II will be responsible for the systematic control and organization of records, ensuring they are accessible, secure, and maintained according to government regulations.
Remuneration and Benefits
Basic Salary: Ksh. 59,037 – 94,904
House Allowance: Ksh. 28,000
Commuter Allowance: Ksh. 6,000
Annual Leave: 30 Working days per financial year
Medical Cover: As per existing Commission policy
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensuring that letters are appropriately filed and marked to action officers.
Ensuring proper arrangement and shelving of files.
Controlling and opening of files and updating the file index.
Ensuring security of information and files in the registry/archives.
Updating and maintaining file movement registers.
Preparing disposal schedules for inactive files in accordance with relevant government regulations.
Requirements for Appointment
Must have served in the grade of Records Management Assistant III for a minimum period of three (3) years.
Possess a Diploma in Information Science, Records Management, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in Computer Skills.
Must meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
