As a Project Director - Integrated & Solutions at Baker Hughes, you will be responsible for the strategic oversight of all projects in operations, planning, and mobilization. You will act as a key advisor for commercial builds, focusing on pricing, risk, and organizational perspectives for new business opportunities. This senior leadership role involves managing multiple project managers across Sub-Saharan Africa and ensuring seamless alignment between product lines, account managers, and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight: Maintain full oversight of all projects in operations and planning/mobilization phases.
Commercial Support: Provide strategic guidance for commercial build-ups from pricing, risk, and organizational perspectives for new business opportunities.
Team Management: Directly manage multiple project managers across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Cross-functional Alignment: Ensure alignment across product lines, account managers, technical teams, logistics, and the project management organization.
Financial Accountability: Responsible for total regional revenue and P&L (Profit and Loss) management.
Client Management: Handle project escalations and provide guidance for ongoing projects, acting as the primary point for client management.
Contract Advisory: Identify opportunities and risks within existing and new contracts and subcontracts.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a scientific discipline from an accredited university or equivalent industry experience.
Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the relevant industry (wellbore construction, completions, wellbore intervention, P&A, etc.).
Leadership: At least 5 years of experience specifically as a project manager.
Technical Certification: Well Control awareness is required; a Well Control Certification is considered an advantage. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is also an advantage.
Sector Expertise: Experience working on turnkey projects where a Service Company provides end-to-end drilling, completion, logistics, and rig management services.
Financial Skills: Proven experience managing multiple product line P&L and forecasting project costs, schedules, and inventory stock.
Legal & Compliance: Experience managing contracts under English law and managing change/variation requests while assessing risk.
Communication: Excellent English oral and written communication skills, including the ability to lead meetings and distribute succinct minutes.
Software: Proficiency in MS Office Suite; familiarity with MS Project is required.
