Reporting to the Manager, Credit Analysis, the Project Analyst will be responsible for the analysis of construction loans and other project-related loan applications. The role involves supporting ongoing projects to ensure that the Bank’s interest is upheld and projects are executed seamlessly for the mutual benefit of both the Bank and its customers.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Risk Assessment: Analyze feasibility studies, credit data, and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit.
Mortgage Administration: Monitor implementation and review various reports including appraisals, environmental documentation, and engineering reports to determine compliance with investor requirements for projects financed by the Bank to ensure successful completion.
Compliance & Monitoring: Ensure compliance with all lending procedures as stipulated in the credit policy manual. Monitor various financing products advanced to ensure compliance in relation to their satisfactory conduct, ensuring all post-approval activities, including conditions precedent to disbursement, are accurate and complete.
Technical Support: Provide technical support to the branch credit staff and clients on credit/mortgage-related issues.
Stakeholder Engagement: Hold meetings with clients and consultants to address issues on proposed construction projects.
Site Inspections: Conduct periodical site visits to assess projects and hold discussions with concerned parties together with the project managers.
Customer Service: Consult with customers to resolve complaints and verify financial and credit transactions.
Market Intelligence: Conduct market intelligence research and prepare reports for presentation to the Credit Committee regarding the Real Estate sector and make recommendations for adaptation.
Reporting: Participate in the preparation of Board Papers for the Board Credit Committee and Management Papers for the Management Credit Committee.
External Liaison: Liaise with representatives of credit associations and other businesses to exchange information concerning credit ratings and verify financial transactions.
Qualifications and Competencies
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Land Economics, Building Economics Construction, Engineering, or a related field.
Certification: Professional qualification in Project Management or a related field.
Membership: Member of a relevant professional body.
Experience: At least four years of banking experience.
Technical Skills: Excellent credit and financial analysis skills.
Communication: Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
Interpersonal Skills: Great interpersonal skills, good customer service orientation, and commercial awareness.
