KCA University (KCAU) is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced academic staff in the field of Statistics. We are looking for individuals to fill positions at the levels of Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, and Lecturer. The successful candidates will contribute to building a strong academic culture of excellence, integrity, and innovation while facilitating learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach and facilitate learning through lectures, seminars, workshops, and tutorials as assigned by the Head of Department.
- Participate in the development, planning, and implementation of high-quality curricula for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
- Conduct research, produce publications, and attract research funding through grants and collaborations.
- Supervise postgraduate students' research work.
- Participate in program reviews, audits, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Serve on university committees, boards, and contribute to policy formulation and decision-making.
- Develop learning materials, prepare schemes of work, and maintain records to monitor student progress.
- Provide academic guidance, feedback, and support services to students.
- Administer and mark exams, assignments, and continuous assessment tests (CATs).
- Maintain proper records of student examinations and ensure timely entry into the management system.
- Foster partnerships, consultancy, and outreach initiatives to enhance the University’s visibility.
- Undertake continuous professional development and training.
Requirements by Rank
Professor
- An earned PhD or equivalent in the relevant field from an accredited university.
- At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience as an Associate Professor.
- Minimum of six (6) publications in reputable refereed journals since the last promotion.
- Supervised at least three (3) Master’s and two (2) PhD students to completion since the last promotion.
- Attracted research/development funds as at least a Co-PI in at least two projects since the last promotion.
- Registered member of a relevant professional body.
- Evidence of service to the University and community.
Associate Professor
- An earned PhD or equivalent in the relevant field.
- At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience as a Senior Lecturer.
- Minimum of five (5) publications in reputable refereed journals since the last promotion.
- Supervised at least three (3) Master’s and one (1) PhD student to completion since the last promotion.
- Attracted research/development funds in at least two projects since the last promotion.
- Registered member of a relevant professional body.
- Evidence of service to the University and community.
Senior Lecturer
- An earned PhD or equivalent in the relevant field.
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience as a Lecturer OR six (6) years of research/industry experience.
- Minimum of four (4) publications in reputable refereed journals since the last promotion.
- Supervised at least three (3) Master’s students to completion.
- Attracted research/development funds in at least one project since the last promotion.
- Registered member of a relevant professional body.
- Evidence of service to the University and community.
Lecturer
- An earned PhD or equivalent in the relevant field.
- At least three (3) years of continuous teaching, research, or industry experience.
- Minimum of two (2) publications in reputable refereed scholarly journals.
- Registered member of a relevant professional body.
- Evidence of service to the University and community.
