KCA University (KCAU) is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced academic staff for the positions of Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, and Lecturer in the field of Information Systems. These roles are central to building a strong academic culture of excellence, integrity, and innovation within the university. Candidates will be responsible for teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, conducting high-impact research, supervising students, and contributing to curriculum development and university governance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaching and Learning: Teach and facilitate learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels through lectures, seminars, workshops, and tutorials as assigned by the Department Chair.
- Curriculum Development: Participate in the planning, development, and implementation of high-quality curricula for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
- Research and Scholarship: Lead or participate in research teams, attract research funding through grants, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge through publications in reputable refereed journals.
- Student Supervision: Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate (Master's and PhD) students in their research work and academic progress.
- Academic Leadership: Provide leadership within the department, mentor junior faculty, and guide early-career researchers.
- Administrative Support: Serve on university committees, boards, and the senate; participate in policy formulation and decision-making.
- Assessment: Develop, administer, and mark examinations, assignments, and continuous assessment tests, ensuring timely entry of results into the examination records management system.
- Professional Development: Undertake continuous professional development and participate in training activities to update and enhance skills.
- Community Engagement: Foster partnerships, consultancy, and outreach initiatives that enhance the University’s visibility and impact.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
1. Professor
- An earned PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Information Systems or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
- At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience at the University as an Associate Professor.
- A minimum of six (6) publications in reputable refereed journals since promotion to Associate Professor.
- Supervised a minimum of three (3) Master’s and two (2) PhD students to completion since last appointment or promotion to Associate Professor.
- Attracted research or development funds as a Co-PI in at least two projects since last promotion.
- Registered and a member in good standing with the relevant professional body.
2. Associate Professor
- An earned PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in the relevant field from an accredited university.
- At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience at the University as a Senior Lecturer.
- A minimum of five (5) publications in reputable refereed journals since last promotion to Senior Lecturer.
- Supervised a minimum of three (3) Master’s and one (1) PhD students to completion since promotion to Senior Lecturer.
- Attracted research or development funds as a researcher in at least two projects since last promotion.
- Registered and a member in good standing with the relevant professional body.
3. Senior Lecturer
- An earned PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in the relevant field from an accredited university.
- At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience at the university level as a Lecturer OR six (6) years of research/industry experience.
- A minimum of four (4) publications in reputable refereed journals since last promotion or appointment as a Lecturer.
- Supervised at least three (3) Master’s students to completion as a Lecturer.
- Attracted research or development funds in at least one project since last promotion.
- Registered and a member in good standing with the relevant professional body.
4. Lecturer
- An earned PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in the relevant field from an accredited university.
- At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience at the university level, in research, or in industry.
- A minimum of two (2) publications in reputable refereed scholarly journals.
- Demonstrated evidence of service to the University and community.
- Registered and a member in good standing with the relevant professional body.
