KCA University (KCAU) is seeking qualified and experienced academics to fill positions in the Finance department across various ranks. The successful candidates will contribute to a culture of academic excellence, research innovation, and community service.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Instruction: Teach and facilitate learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels through lectures, seminars, workshops, and tutorials.
- Curriculum Development: Participate in the development, planning, and implementation of high-quality curricula for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
- Research & Funding: Attract research funding through grants and collaborations, lead research teams, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge.
- Supervision: Supervise postgraduate students (Master's and PhD) as assigned by the Chair of Department.
- Academic Leadership: Participate in program reviews, audits, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Provide mentorship to junior faculty and guide early-career researchers.
- Administration: Serve on university committees, boards, and the senate; participate in developing and marking exams and assignments; and maintain accurate student records in the management system.
- Outreach: Foster partnerships, consultancy, and outreach initiatives that enhance the University’s visibility and impact.
- Professional Growth: Undertake continuous professional development and participate in training activities to enhance academic skills.
Academic and Professional Requirements per Rank
1. Professor
- Earned PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Finance or a relevant field from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 3 years of continuous teaching experience as an Associate Professor.
- Minimum of 6 publications in reputable refereed journals since the last promotion.
- Successfully supervised at least 3 Master’s and 2 PhD students to completion since the last appointment.
- Track record of attracting research/development funds as a Co-PI in at least 2 projects since the last promotion.
- Registered and in good standing with a relevant professional body.
- Evidence of service to the University and community.
2. Associate Professor
- Earned PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Finance or a relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years of continuous teaching experience as a Senior Lecturer.
- Minimum of 5 publications in reputable refereed journals since the last promotion.
- Successfully supervised at least 3 Master’s and 1 PhD student to completion since the last promotion.
- Attracted research/development funds in at least 2 projects since the last promotion.
- Registered and in good standing with a relevant professional body.
3. Senior Lecturer
- Earned PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Finance or a relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years of continuous teaching experience as a Lecturer OR 6 years of research/industry experience.
- Minimum of 4 publications in reputable refereed journals since the last promotion.
- Successfully supervised at least 3 Master’s students to completion as a Lecturer.
- Attracted research/development funds in at least 1 project since the last promotion.
- Registered and in good standing with a relevant professional body.
4. Lecturer
- Earned PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Finance or a relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years of continuous experience in university teaching, research, or industry.
- Minimum of 2 publications in reputable refereed scholarly journals.
- Registered and in good standing with a relevant professional body.
- Evidence of service to the University and community.
