KCA University (KCAU) is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced academic staff for the positions of Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, and Lecturer in the field of Entrepreneurship. The successful candidates will be responsible for building a strong academic culture of excellence, integrity, and innovation while facilitating learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Teach and facilitate learning through lectures, seminars, workshops, and tutorials.
Participate in the development, planning, and implementation of high-quality curricula.
Lead or participate in research teams, attract research funding, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge through publications.
Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research work.
Provide academic leadership and mentorship to junior faculty and staff.
Serve on university committees, boards, and the senate to contribute to policy formulation.
Administer and mark examinations, assignments, and continuous assessment tests.
Maintain student records and ensure results are keyed into the management system promptly.
Foster partnerships, consultancy, and outreach initiatives to enhance the university's impact.
Undertake continuous professional development and training.
Requirements by Rank
1. Professor
Earned PhD in the relevant field from an accredited university.
Minimum 3 years of continuous teaching experience as an Associate Professor.
Minimum 6 publications in reputable refereed journals since the last promotion.
Supervised at least 3 Master’s and 2 PhD students to completion since the last promotion.
Attracted research funding as at least a Co-PI in at least two projects since the last promotion.
Registered member of a relevant professional body.
Evidence of service to the University and community.
2. Associate Professor
Earned PhD in the relevant field.
Minimum 3 years of teaching experience as a Senior Lecturer.
Minimum 5 publications in reputable refereed journals since the last promotion.
Supervised at least 3 Master’s and 1 PhD student to completion since the last promotion.
Attracted research funding in at least two projects since the last promotion.
Registered member of a relevant professional body.
3. Senior Lecturer
Earned PhD in the relevant field.
Minimum 3 years of teaching experience as a Lecturer OR 6 years of research/industry experience.
Minimum 4 publications in reputable refereed journals since the last promotion.
Supervised at least 3 Master’s students to completion as a Lecturer.
Attracted research funding in at least one project since the last promotion.
Registered member of a relevant professional body.
4. Lecturer
Earned PhD in the relevant field.
Minimum 3 years of continuous teaching, research, or industry experience.
Minimum 2 publications in reputable refereed scholarly journals.
Registered member of a relevant professional body.
Evidence of service to the University and community.
