KCA University (KCAU) is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced academic staff for the positions of Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, and Lecturer in the field of Educational Psychology. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching, research, and providing academic leadership within the Department of Educational Psychology.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Teach and facilitate learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels through lectures, seminars, workshops, and tutorials.
Participate in curriculum development, planning, and implementation.
Lead research teams, conduct scholarly research, and publish in reputable refereed journals.
Attract research or development funds through grants and collaborations.
Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research projects.
Participate in program reviews, audits, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Provide academic leadership and mentorship to junior faculty and staff.
Serve on university committees and contribute to policy formulation and decision-making.
Develop learning materials, prepare schemes of work, and maintain accurate student records.
Administer and mark examinations and ensure timely entry of results into the management system.
Foster partnerships, consultancy, and outreach initiatives to enhance the university's visibility.
Specific Rank Requirements
1. Professor
Earned PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Educational Psychology.
Minimum of 3 years of continuous teaching experience as an Associate Professor.
Minimum of 6 publications in reputable refereed journals since the last promotion.
Supervised at least 3 Master’s and 2 PhD students to completion since the last promotion.
Attracted research/development funds as a Co-PI in at least two projects since the last promotion.
Evidence of service to the university and community.
2. Associate Professor
Earned PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Educational Psychology.
Minimum of 3 years of continuous teaching experience as a Senior Lecturer.
Minimum of 5 publications in reputable refereed journals since the last promotion.
Supervised at least 3 Master’s and 1 PhD student to completion since the last promotion.
Attracted research/development funds in at least two projects since the last promotion.
Evidence of service to the university and community.
3. Senior Lecturer
Earned PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Educational Psychology.
Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience as a Lecturer or 6 years of research/industry experience.
Minimum of 4 publications in reputable refereed journals since the last promotion.
Supervised at least 3 Master’s students to completion as a Lecturer.
Attracted research/development funds in at least one project since the last promotion.
4. Lecturer
Earned PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Educational Psychology.
Minimum of 3 years of continuous teaching experience at the university level, in research, or industry.
Minimum of 2 publications in reputable refereed scholarly journals.
Registration and membership in good standing with a relevant professional body (where applicable).
